Not really a funny thing they said, more a strange thing they did.
The other night ds (9) was in his room. It was right at lights out and he had made some noise that woke up his dad. Ds came out and told me goodnight again and went in his room to put his music cd in the player in his computer and go to bed. A couple minutes later I heard what sounded like singing coming from his room. I went in to tell him to stop singing and go to bed. When I opened the door I realised he was crying. When I asked him why he told me his finger was stuck. Sure enough, he had stuck his finger through one of the holes in the DVD tray and it wouldn't come out. I tried putting liquid soap on it, no good. I tried ice, nothing. DH got up and tried to get it out. He ended up pulling the tray out of the player, cutting the plastic and folding it up to get the finger out. All this starting at 11:00 at night. Ds's finger was stuck for about 25 minutes. We still have no idea why he put it in there. We were afraid it was going to be bruised for a while. The next morning I asked him how his finger felt. He told me it was fine and showed me a finger to look at. While I was looking at it I realised it was not only the wrong finger, it was the wrong hand. I stopped worrying about it being bruised and bothering him at that point.
